I would recommend you to visit this less known tourist attraction in Himachal Pradesh before it plunges into fame and accommodation charges and other services become pricey. The valley is rich in scenic beauties, trekking, and walking trails, and so much more that it leave you spell bounded. Despite being a hidden gem, Pabbar valley offers some remarkable adventure activities like fishing, rafting, and paragliding. Though there are a few nice accommodation options, still many tourists prefer camping here. So be here before the prices shot up.
Chindi
One of the most spectacular places in Himachal yet unknown to many, Chindi is about 94 km from Shimla. As far as your eyes can see here, you will see lush greenery and some beautiful low-roofed house. Away from the hustle and bustle of the cities, this hilly destination offers a respite you deserve. There are a few hotels and guest houses which provide nice accommodation options to the tourists. It’s one of the finest weekend destinations in Himachal Pradesh. There are some nice tourist attractions in close proximity to Chindi such as Shikari Devi Temple, Prashar Lake, and Karsog Valley. These attractions offer some exquisite views of the mountains and valleys, and also offer some amazing trekking opportunities.
Barot
Barot fits the bill for action-packed vacations in Himachal Pradesh. The bounty of outdoor activities, including trekking, biking, hiking, and so much more keep the tourists enthralled. On the other hand, there are three artificial lakes along with a reservoir on Uhl River, which dramatically enhances the charm of this beautiful place. This village has some super cheap accommodations; consequently, many backpackers have started to prefer Barot over some world known destinations in the nearby areas.
Chanshal Pass
Among the most offbeat destinations in Himachal Pradesh, Chansel Pass (also known as Chanshal Valley) is for extreme travel enthusiasts. It was just recently when a road to Chanshal was built, before that trekking was the only way to reach here. There is a few home stays available now but camping is still what most people prefer. The picturesque plains and slopes of the valley offer great opportunities for skiing. The valley opens from May to October. Rest of the year it remains covered with snow.
Kharapathar
A scenic drive of 4 to 5 hours from Shimla takes the tourists to this one of the most unexplored destinations in Himachal Pradesh. The messy roads can test your patience, but once you are here, the breathtaking scenery awaits you to make you forget all the fatigue. This tiny hilly town has some small shops, an HPTDC hotel, and a few guest houses. You are allowed to be a little lazy here since you won’t be able to take way your eyes from its scenic beauty.
Daranghati
One of the unsung and unexplored destinations in Himachal Pradesh, Daranghati is a place to visit at least once (and then you would like to revisit again and again). It’s home to the Daranghati Wildlife Sanctuary, but like rest of the Himachal-beautiful landscapes remain its primary attraction. Most of the road which leads to this hidden gem is very narrow and can test your driving skills. Don’t drive if aren’t a trained driver. However, for the same reason it becomes a pleasant destination for those who love driving on challenging roads.
