Mussoorie to Dhanaulti Trip

September 8, 2018adminTravel Stories, VideoNo Comments

Dhanaulti is about 31 km (close to 1hr 10 min drive) from Mussoorie and 61 km (close to 2hrs drive) from Dehradun District. A road trip to Dhanaulti from Mussoorie is full of breathtaking views of the hills and forest. You should have good driving skills if you are driving from Mussoorie to Dhanaulti as the road to Dhanaulti has a few sharp turns and at times it is very narrow. You can also reach Dhanaulti by bus. Another nice way of reaching Dhanaulti is by taxi. The local drivers are experts and know the roads better than maps. Once you start your trip, you will have to cross the bustling Mall Road full of beautiful shopkeepers and elated tourists. While breezing through Mussoorie, you will adore beautiful hotels, private residences, and many temples on the way. Crowds and man-made architectures start to thin down as you leave the town behind. In fact, between Mussoorie to Dhanaulti Road there might be times when you would not see any other vehicle on the road, except your own. At one side of your car will be a wall of stone (the hills) and the other side will be the nature at its best. Down the hills when the houses start growing smaller and smaller, and if the weather is foggy, you may be duped into believing that the houses and the hilltops are on the clouds. Initially, the view will be pretty similar to the view you savored on your way to Mussoorie from Dehradun, the capital of Uttarakhand, but as you keep gaining height the exquisiteness doubles up. The Mother Nature has truly blessed Uttarakhand. As you will drive closer to Dhanaulti, you will find yourself among the clouds and the panoramic views of the Himalayas will be in front of you. The hilly road will be almost entirely empty with no one to honk and greenery all around. Recently, Dhanaulti tourism has started to offer an assortment of facilities, including pickup and drop service and some nice accommodation options. Consequently, the tranquil hill station has started to emerge as an ideal day trip destination from Mussoorie, as well as from Dehradun. Once in Dhanaulti, you can explore a number of attractions and natural wonders here. Eco Park is perhaps the most frequented tourist attraction in Dhanaulti. A variety of activities such as horse riding, rappelling and hiking can be enjoyed here. The return journey from Dhanaulti to Mussoorie is as spectacular as the journey to Dhanaulti from Mussoorie. Bid goodbye to the Himalayas (mountain ranges) with a promise to yourself to come back soon.
